Monique Snoeck obtained her Ph.D. in May 1995 from Computer Science Department of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven with a thesis that lays the formal foundations of MERODE. Since then she has done further research in the area of formal methods for object-oriented conceptual modelling. She works as postdoctoral researcher at the Management Information Systems Group of the Department of Applied Economic Sciences, at the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium. She also is invited lecturer at the Université Catholique de Louvain-la-Neuve since 1997 where she teaches the method to future business professionals. She has been involved in several industrial conceptual modeling projects.
Guido Dedene is Professor in Management Information Systems at the Department of Applied Economics of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. His lecturing and research activities concentrate on formal methods for system development and quantitative system-management techniques. He is co-founder of ELiAS, an E-Library Software Spin-Off of K.U.Leuven, and LIRIS, the Leuven Institute for Research on Information Systems. He also holds a partial professor chair on Information and Communication Systems at the University of Amsterdam.
