This paper explores the following topics: <ul><li>1) The state of content on the Internet: where it is today and where it is going.<li>2) The Presentation Server and its role as the fourth tier in a scaleable, reliable, and flexible back-end solution for the Internet.<li>3) Implementation of a system using this new four-tier architecture.</ul> <p class=paperabstract> The paper discusses the nature of the content served by content providers and the content expected by various clients. Here, we will discuss data, audio, and visuals as the content of a given system on the Internet. We will also discuss the capabilities required from the next generation clients to this content.'
