As in previous years, TOOLS USA '03 is soliciting proposals for high
quality tutorials. Tutorials are normally one half-day (3.0 hours).
Topics of interest in the OO field, and not yet covered in other
conferences, are particularly sought for presentation. Tutorials should
be innovative, with a strong practical content, or based on significant
industrial developments, and be of interest to a significant part of the
software community. Examples include:
Non-partisan survey of the major solutions available in areas such as
tools, environments, methods, languages, standards, etc., and based, as
much as possible, on actual experience rather than just knowledge though
the literature.
In-depth, non-partisan critical survey of a specific solution (in any
area as defined below) which has attracted much attention.
A non-exhaustive list of topics includes:
Software programming techniques and tips
Microsoft .NET, Web Services, SOAP, XML
Real-time & distributed development
Security & testing
Mission-critical development & formal specifications
Libraries, reuse & trusted components
OO migration, implementation and project management
Refactoring, Agile and Extreme Programming
